Fire Danger Level moved to LOW

Effective 10/21/2014 the Fire Danger Level for Stevens County Fire Protection District 1 has been moved to LOW.  Rule burning is allowed unless you live within an Urban Growth Area (UGA).  For maps of the Urban Growth Areas please click the following link:

Fire Danger Level moved to MODERATE – effective 10/16/2014

Per DNR as of 10/16/2014 – Fire danger rating for Stevens County inside Fire Districts 1 and 2 is moderate. Outside of Stevens County Fire Districts 1 and 2 is low. Please notify Stevens County Dispatch the day of your burn by calling 509-684-2555 or 1-800-572-0947. If you have a written permit, burning is allowed subject to the conditions of your permit for a moderate fire danger rating inside Fire Districts 1 and 2 and low outside Fire Districts 1 and 2. Rule burns are allowed for forest debris from property that is not improved. Campfires are also allowed. However, campfires are not allowed on state land except in DNR campgrounds. This message is effective October 16, 2014 at 0001 hours and will remain in effect until further notice.
